May 2021 Meeting

Our May, 2021 meeting was held at 1PM on Saturday, May 22 at the San Diego Air and Space Museum Annex in Santee.

Our next event will be ModelExpo on Saturday, June 5 at the same location.

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS – If you are planning on attending ModelExpo, please consider volunteering to help with some aspect of the event. We need people to help with setup, tear-down, judging, raffle, contest registration, the front gate, etc. If interested, please contact Richard Abraham or Bob Ekstrom

As things are getting back to normal, we restarted our traditional bi-annual contest! We had a lot of great entries. The winners were:

First Place – Wingnut Wings 1/32 Eindecker by Gary Baker

Second Place – Hobbycraft 1/48 Dehavilland Otter by John Ball

Third Place – Hobbyboss 1/200 USS Pegasus by Ethan Idenmill

April 2021 Meeting

Our April, 2021 meeting was held on Saturday, the 24th at 1PM at the San Diego Air and Space Museum Annex at Gillespie Field.

Our next meeting will be held one week earlier, on Saturday, May 22 at 1PM also at the San Diego Air and Space Museum Annex. We will have a Pre-Model Expo Contest – bring a model to enter and see how it might do at Model Expo!




March 2021 Meeting

We held our latest meeting on Saturday, March 27 at 1PM at the Gillespie Field Annex of the San Diego Air and Space Museum. We had a lot of great models brought in. Pictures are below. Our next meeting will on Saturday, April 25 at 1PM. Please see the description here.




February Meeting

Our last meeting was held on Saturday, February 27. We had lots of great models, both in progress and completed.

Our next meeting will be on Saturday, March 27 (subject to local health regulations). The theme for that meeting will be “The model with the most after-market parts”. Please see the calendar for details. Happy modeling!

The December Meeting is Cancelled

Due to the increased COVID-related restrictions in San Diego County, the December meeting is cancelled.

October 2020 Meeting

We had a great meeting on Saturday, October 31. People brought in lots of great projects. Also, people brought in examples of their oldest models.

We will meet again on Saturday, November 28 at 1PM. Please check the calendar for details. The theme for the next meeting will be – “The Model with the Most Aftermarket Parts”.

September 2020 Meeting

We had a great informal and socially distanced meeting on Saturday, September 26 at the San Diego Air and Space Museum Annex.

We had lots of great models brought for show and tell. The theme was “what subject do you have the most kits of?” Scott Pence had the most with well over 30 kits of Sherman tanks.

One more note – this website won the IPMS USA Website of the Year for 2020!




August 2020 Meeting

We had a great informal meeting at the Air and Space Museum Annex at Gillespie Field. Lots of great models and works in progress – pictures are below.

For our next meeting in September – we will have a theme: A subject of which you have build multiple models over your life. How many have you built? Why that subject?
