- The IPMS San Diego met on April 26 at the Girl Scout Center, located 1231 Upas St. in San Diego.
The second quarterly contest of the year, the anticipation of the up-coming Model Expo and the traditional Show 'n Tell attracted the largest number of members in months.

Contest Coordinator Manny Gutsche asked for volunteers to help setting up the premises at the San Diego Air & Space Museum Annex the day before the Model Expo event, which will be also the day of the May meeting. Manny also announced that the setup will start at 2:00PM instead of the usual 10:00AM. |

In anticipation to the Model Expo contest theme "In The Movies", Jose Gonzalez is working on a diorama featuring the "Final Countdown" dog fight between two F-14s and two Zeros, all aircraft in 1/144 scale.

Jerry Brunson brought his 75% completed 1/32 Trumpeter A-7 to which he added Aires wheel wells, cockpit and electronics bay, and a Zactomodels kit consisting of a seamless and correct intake and a correct canopy.

Jerry Jackson brought his finished Bf 109G-14, a 1/48 scale Otaki model that he had built in the 1980s and recently took apart to perform a proper restoration.
