| The Nineth Annual San Diego IPMS Model Expo was held on June 7 in conjunction with the San Diego Air & Space Museum’s Model Swap meet. This year the event, co-hosted by the IPMS San Diego and the San Diego Model Car Club, saw a record attendance, with 90 contestant who entered almost 400 models in the model competition. | • San Diego Model Expo 2013 | |
| The Eighth Annual San Diego IPMS Model Expo was held on June 1 in conjunction with the San Diego Air & Space Museum’s Model Swap meet. This year the event featured the Region 8 Regional Contest which was co-hosted by the IPMS San Diego and the San Diego Model Car Club. The Seventh Annual San Diego IPMS Model Expo was held on June 2 in conjunction with the San Diego Air & Space Museum’s Model Swap meet. This year again the model competition was co-hosted by the IPMS San Diego and the San Diego Model Car Club, and offered two theme awards: "100 Years of Marine Aviation" and "100 Years of Chevrolet".

IPMS San Diego has teamed up with the Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum to create a diorama in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Operation Shufly.

2011 Events

• 2011 Winterfest The 2011 Winterfest was held on December 11, 2011. About 70 models were entered in the contest. 
• 2011 OrangeCon Over 400 models were entered in the October 8 2011 event. See photos of all the models here. 
• 2011 Lower Left Cost NNL The annual Lower Lft Coast NNL took place on August 21, 2011, at the Al Bahr Shrine Auditorium, in Kearny Mesa. Attendance was good, with over 250 models on display. 
• 2011 Make-n-Take - In celebration of the Naval Aviation Centennial, IPMS San Diego and the Coronado Public Library organized a Make 'n Take event on July 23 2011 in which participants of old ages could build and take home a Revell Snaptite 1/72 scale F-14 Tomcat under the guidance of experienced IPMS modelers.
• San Diego Model Expo 2011 .... The Sixth Annual San Diego IPMS Model Expo was held on June 4, in conjunction with the San Diego Air & Space Museum’s Model Swap meet. This year's model competition was co-hosted by the IPMS San Diego and the San Diego Model Car Club, and offered two theme awards in celebration of the centennial of both the Naval Aviation and the Indianapolis 500.
