1/48th Apollo 9 Recovery Diorama

The helicopter is the Hasegawa SH-3H backdated to a SH-3D. The Apollo Command Module and rafts are all scratch-built and the figures are all heavily modified from various sources.

This diorama took first place in the Miscellaneous Diorama Category of the 2007 IPMS Nationals (Anaheim). It also won a Founders Club Award and Best Aircraft Diorama at the 2008 Valleycon. It now permanently resides at the San Diego Air and Space Museum.
