November 2015 Meeting

There were two main events that occurred at this meeting – elections for 2016 club officers and the annual auction


Election Results for 2016:

President – Mike O’Leary

Co-Vice Presidents – Bob Ekstrom and David Nielson

Secretary – Joel Hendricks

Treasurer – Gary Williams

Lead Judge – Jerry Jackson


The annual auction was a huge success! We raised over $800 for our yearly Christmas party! Thanks to everyone who donated items and to everyone who participated!


 




October 2015 Meeting

We had a better-than-usual turnout for our October 2015 meeting. We held officer nominations for 2016 and had our last bi-annual contest for 2015.
Please note that the next meeting will be November 20, rather than the last Friday of the month.

At the November meeting, we will have officer elections and the yearly auction, so please bring an item from your stash to auction!

August 2015 Meeting

The IPMS San Diego chapter had a great turnout for our August, 2015 meeting. We had a number of models brought in for show and tell. We also had our quarterly contest with five entries.

During the meeting, the club voted to approve the following items:

  1. The club voted to move to a new website structure as demonstrated by Colin.
  2. The club voted to change our quarterly contests to bi-annual contests, one in Spring and one in Fall, and to award the best in show winner a Discount Hobby Warehouse gift certificate.

Contest Results – All contest entries, four planes and one ship were judged together.

3rd Place – Richard Abraham, F9 Panther

2nd Place – Ethan Idenmill, Cruise Ship Aida

1st Place – Manny Gutsche, U2

Best in Show – Manny Gutsche, U2

September 2015 Meeting

We had a good turnout for our September 2015 meeting. Among the items that were discussed:\

  1. Next month (October) will be our first biannual contest, which will replace our quarterly contests.
  2. A new committee is being formed to look at how to revitalize the Best In Show Winners trophy while preserving its history.
  3. David Weeks gave a demonstration on how to use chalk pastels for weathering.
